Tiddington Under 13’s Win the Ron Maudsley Cup 2022
Oxfordshire Finals Day, Didcot CC – 3rd July 2022
The competition looked wide open with Tiddington CC hoping to retain the Trophy.
In the first Semi-Final Tiddington beat Kidmore End by 2 runs.
Tiddington won the toss and elected to bat. The score looked about par after being bowled out for 102 in 19.4 overs with Ciaran Lewis 32no and Jago Sidgwick 24. Aryan Vynatheya taking 2-8 in 4 overs and Zac Neo 2-16 for Kidmore End.
In reply, Kidmore End fell 2 runs short for the loss of 8 wickets in a very tight contest with Shaurya Sharma 22 and Harry Mallard 18. 3 wickets for Ciaran Lewis for Tiddington.
In the second Semi-Final Henley beat Challow & Childrey 8 wickets.
Challow & Childrey won the toss and elected to bat scoring 52 for 7 off their 20 overs with Barnaby Cale 10 and Ryan Geekie 9. Atharv Gupta taking 4 for 12 in 4 overs for Henley.
In reply, Henley scored the winning runs for the loss of 2 wickets in the 10th over with Joe Barratt 34no. Alfie Roche and Kieran Morbey taking a wicket apiece for Challow.
In the Third / Fourth Place Play Off Kidmore End beat Challow & Childrey by 18 runs.
Challow & Childrey won the toss and elected to field. Kidmore End scored 98 off their 20 overs with Aryan Vynatheya 32 and Archie Nassau-Lake 15. Alfie Roche 3-15; Arthur Maunder 2-22 and Ryan Geekie 2-10 for Challow.
In reply, Challow scored 80 for 9 in their 20 overs with Alfie Roche 18 and Arthur Maunder 17. Aryan Vynatheya taking 4-7 in 4 overs and Jamie Fenwicke-Clennell 2-14 for Kidmore.
In the Final Tiddington beat Henley by 13 runs to be crowned U13 Ron Maudsley County Champions.
Tiddington batted first scoring 115 for 9 off their 20 overs with Alfie Wilson 33ret and Henry Saunders 22. 3 wickets for Olly Offwood for Henley.
In reply, Henley were bowled out for 102 in 16.4 overs with Harry 21; Rory 16 and Lily 10 recovering from 40 for 6. 3 wickets for Alfie Wilson and 2 for Zac for Tiddington.
Chris Mitty from the Oxfordshire Cricket Board of Directors conducted the presentation thanking Didcot CC for hosting the day, the scorers, coaches, parents and finally Nick Wilks, Isaac Hall, Steve Hyatt and Duncan Fendom for officiating the day.
Finally, Chris handed out the medals to both teams and the U13 Ron Mausdley Cup to Tiddington’s captain.
Good luck to Tiddington CC on Sunday 17th July; hosting the winners of the first round tie of Hampstead CC (Middlesex) v Esher Griffins CC (Surrey) in the National Vitality U13 Club T20.
