Oxfordshire T20 southern Section 2018
Week Six
Tiddington Foxes beat Horspath CC by 7 runs
Foxes 117 all out (19.2 overs), Horspath CC 110 for 9 (20.0 overs)
Horspath won the toss and (unusually) put Tiddington in to bat.
Tiddington’s innings did not start well, as their top four all fell swiftly for just 15 runs thanks to Asad Rafiq (4-0-25-2), Tom Cosford (2.2-0-5-3) and Will Hawtin (3 catches, 1 stumping in the innings).
Thankfully for Tiddington, Jordan Davis, in at 4, smashed 29 off 9 balls, and Rob Lutton (28) together with Nick Pykett (29) dug in to rebuild the innings before a tail-end collapse. Tiddington were all out 117 with 4 balls to go.
Horspath’s Tom Coleman (26 off 21) started well, until he fell the same way as his opening partner Cosford: caught behind by Jordan Davis off Joe Elliott, followed swiftly by numbers 3 and 4.
Shahbaz Ali kept Horspath in the game hitting a solid 27 off 35, but a tremendous spell by Nick Pykett (3-0-10-3) dashed their hopes.
In a tantalisingly close finish, Horspath inched to 110, 7 runs short off their 20 overs.
